To work on your own energy in different ways is essential to a witch. One of the systems that that can be a good help in this is the chakra system. Many of us do also conciously open our own chakra system before ritual and close it at the end of ritual. some studies are obviously need to manage this, you can find som basic material for those studies here.

The Root chakra
The first or bottom chakra is usually called the root chakra or base chakra. This is where
where we most strongly relate to the physical-material world we find ourselves in as long as we
live in a body here on earth. It is through the root chakra that we establish and hopefully keep our grounding.
It is through a balanced root chakra that we manage to keep our feet more or less on the ground.
